Seven new lawsuits filed against Sean 'DD' Combs
Seven new civil lawsuits have been filed against Sean “DD” Combs in a federal court in New York.
Four men and three women have accused the hip-hop mogul of sexual assault at parties in Los Angeles, New York and Las Vegas.
The youngest plaintiff was 13 years old at the time of the alleged incident.
Mr. Combs remains in custody at a Brooklyn jail. He faces separate federal charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, which he denies. The BBC has contacted its legal team for comment on the new case.
His lawyers recently dismissed the flurry of lawsuits as “obvious attempts to gain publicity,” insisting that “Mr. Combs has never sexually harassed anyone — adult or minor, male or female.”
All seven of the new civil lawsuits allege that Mr. Combs — or by proxy through his associates — drank the drug-laced alcoholic beverages at events that left the plaintiffs dizzy, nauseous and out of body.
In several cases, the plaintiffs allege that Mr. Combs raped them, forced oral sex on them or aggressively groped them.
Mr Combs is currently awaiting trial in May next year on federal charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. He faces up to life in prison if convicted.
The hip-hop icon has pleaded not guilty to all charges and has been denied bail multiple times.
The indictment, along with several lawsuits, implicates his various business ventures, alleging that they facilitated and financed his abusive activities both inside and outside the music industry.
The lawsuits also allege that Mr. Combs used his power and influence in entertainment to manipulate, intimidate and silence those around him.
A new case alleges Mr. Combs and another male celebrity raped a 13-year-old girl at an after-party for the 2000 VMAs. A second male celebrity is not named in the lawsuit.
Another alleged Mr Combs drugged and raped an independent musician at a party. She says she woke up in pain and the marks on her arms suggest she was tied up with ropes while she was unconscious.
In a third case, Mr Combs allegedly exposed himself to a man and then grabbed the man's genitals in a “rough” and “sexual” manner.
The fourth involved a celebrity personal trainer, whom Mr Combs allegedly assaulted at a party at his Hollywood Hills home in 2022.
The trainer said he saw several high-profile celebrities engaging in group sexual activity at the party, where he was later brought into a small room with Mr Combs, who unzipped the personal trainer's pants and had “non-consensual oral sex with him”.
A fifth new filing concerns a woman who alleges she was drugged at a party in Mr. Combs' hotel room and woke up naked in bed with the rap musician talking on the phone in the corner of the room.
The sixth case involved a man who ran a security firm. She alleged that at a party Mr Combs invited her to a private room and then gave her a drink that made her dizzy and nauseous. She claims Mr Combs then stuck his hand down her pants and grabbed her genitalia.
The seventh case, according to US media reports, is a 17-year-old aspiring musician who alleged she was assaulted at a party by Mr Combs.
Mr. Combs has faced allegations ranging from rape and sexual assault to grooming and domestic violence for nearly a year.
Recently, a lawyer Dr More than 100 clients plan to sue the musician For sexual harassment, rape and sexual exploitation.
He is currently in jail awaiting trial in New York.
Prosecutors alleged that he was also involved in kidnapping, forced labor, bribery and other crimes.
They described him as the head of a criminal organization that abused women, using threats of violence to force them to participate in drug-fueled activities with male prostitutes.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was refused bail. His trial is scheduled for May 2025.
