Liam Payne's ex-girlfriend Danielle Pizer has revealed the last message she sent him just weeks before his tragic death
Liam Payne's ex-girlfriend Danielle Pizer – who dated the singer from 2010 to 2013 – has shared her grief over his death.
The professional dancer took to Instagram on Sunday to post a heartfelt letter to Payne, revealing the last message she sent him just weeks before her sudden death at the age of 31.
“Receiving a message from you a few weeks ago expressing your joy for the love I have found with Sonny and Mia is something I will cherish forever,” Pizzer wrote in part.
She is married to radio DJ Sonny Jay. They welcomed a daughter, Mia, in May.
Pizzer and Payne met during their time on “The X Factor” in 2010 and dated for several years until 2013 when their relationship fizzled out.
Elsewhere in his heartfelt post, Pizer expressed his gratitude for the lessons he imparted to Payne during their years-long friendship.
“Thank you for teaching me the importance of setting boundaries, and that I should always guard my heart,” she wrote.
At the beginning of Pizer's post, he also urged fans that Payne was more than a public figure and musician.
“While we all take time to navigate a world without Liam, it's important to remember that while he was admired by millions as a world-renowned musician over the past decade, he was a son and brother to one for over 30 years. A friend to many and Recently an uncle,” he wrote.
“Of all his most important roles and all his monumental achievements he was most proud of being a father. The idea of a child now growing up without their parents is heartbreaking and unfair.”
The “Teardrops” singer welcomed his son, Bear, now 7, with ex-girlfriend Cheryl Cole. Pager then offered his condolences to Penn's son, family and loved ones.
Pager admitted that Payne's death “still doesn't feel real” and that he “hoped and prayed that this day would never come.”
Payne – who rose to fame with One Direction in the early 2010s – fell from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room at the Palermo Hotel in Casasur, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Local police revealed that Payne suffered “extremely serious injuries” as a result of the fall and that he died from multiple injuries that caused internal and external bleeding.
Police said he was under the influence of hallucinogenic drugs at the time of his death.
Hours before his death, the “Strip That Down” singer shared photos and videos on Snapchat from a trip to Argentina with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy.
The influencer – who reacted to her boyfriend's death on Instagram on Friday – was first linked to Penn in October 2022.
