'SNL' reveals Alec Baldwin as Brett Baer in Kamala Harris spoof of Fox News interview: 'You're so sexy when you're angry'

Alec Baldwin returns to “Saturday Night Live” for the first time since 2020 — but not for his famous Donald Trump impression.

He played Fox News' Brett Baer on the October 19 episode of the late night comedy series, spoofing the anchor's recent interview with Vice President Kamala Harris, who plays Maya Rudolph throughout Season 50.

“The joy is none of us,” Rudolph said as he sat down with Baldwin after being introduced.

As Baer, Baldwin began: “When I interviewed President Trump, my first question was, 'What do you think is the most important issue facing our nation?' So my first question to you is, 'Give me an accurate number of how many murderers you have released into this country.'

The two get to spar and talk to each other, as Baer and Harris did in the real interview on Wednesday. “Can I finish please?” asked Rudolph. “I'm asking you,” Baldwin said. Rudolph shot back: “Well, then, you have to listen,” to which Baldwin replied: “Well, I can't, because I'm talking.” Annoyed, Rudolph asks, “Well, when are you going to stop?” The bit ends with Bye saying, “Maybe when I go to bed.”

As for Harris, Rudolph then bragged about his record of prosecuting international cartels: “If I was on 'Breaking Bad,' it would be over in three episodes.”

During the real-life interview, after Harris referenced Trump's recent controversial comments about using the American military as an “enemy within,” “Special Report” aired a clip of Trump omitting the comment. (Bair later apologized for the error.) In the “SNL” sketch, Baldwin's Bair did the same, rolling clips of Trump (played by James Austin Johnson) saying he's “more scrutinized than Alphonse Capone” and “dancing at the YMCA.” “

“He can dance to the YMCA or any other song he wants that he doesn't realize is gay music,” Rudolph said.

Throughout the sketch, Baldwin keeps trying to step on the bare VP's toes. When he accused Rudolph Harris of alienating Trump supporters — “Are they stupid? Loose jaw? Stump-Humper? Cross-eyed meatheads?” He replied, “You're trying so hard to tell me something bad!”

“Brett, let's go ahead,” Rudolph said after Baldwin suggested he thought Trump supporters were fat. “So you're not denying that they're fat?” He replies, prompting her to cry, “Oh, my dear God!”

“You're so sexy when you're angry, you know?” Baldwin told him, prompting broad laughter from the audience, which doubled when Rudolph replied, “Yes, I do.”

Next, the sketch poked fun at Harris' comments about how his presidency would differ from Joe Biden's. “I saw Joe Biden in the Situation Room from the Oval Office,” Rudolph said when asked about Biden's state of mind, “pronouncing the president's name like J'Biden.”

“And J'Biden is brilliant, he's brilliant, but my presidency would be basically a billion times better,” he continued. “We are very different. For example, I am comfortable saying the word 'abortion'

Baldwin flinched as he said the word, and Rudolph kept convulsing as he said “uterus” and “menstruation” — then tried to bring her back by saying “ball,” though she remained still.

Baldwin begins to wrap up the interview, asking Rudolph to share why the American people should vote for him, but cuts him off repeatedly to prevent him from answering. With a sigh, Rudolph said, “Before I go, can I just say what I've been meaning to say for so long? Live from New York, it's Saturday night!”
