Preseason recap: Portland Trail Blazers beat RB Ulm, 111-100
The short-handed Portland Trail Blazers had a second-half scare, but took care of business with a 111-100 win over Ratiofarm Ulm in tonight's preseason contest. The German team battled back from a 20-point deficit in the second half, but the Blazers didn't relinquish the lead, pulling away late to win the second of their first three preseason games.
The Blazers' entire starting lineup, consisting of Shaddon Sharpe (shoulder), Robert Williams III (hamstring), was inactive tonight. Anfernee Simmons (ankle), Jerami Grant (rest), Jabari Walker (sore right ankle), and Mattis Thiebull (sore ankle).
Player of the Game: Scoot Henderson. Portland's 2023 draft pick enjoyed his spot-up, shooting 10-14 for 23 points, with 6 assists, 4 rebounds and zero turnovers. While not against NBA competition, it's a reminder of Portland's hopes when it comes to pickings.
Seven players in double figures. Scoot's fellow starters Ryan Rupert (11), Denny Avdija (18), and DeAndre Ayton (13) all scored in double figures, along with Chris Murray (14) and Dalano Banton (11) off the bench. Tumani Kamara had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds along with 4 assists.
